The fall months provide a great opportunity for federal employees to contribute through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) to their favorite charity, which, for many we hope, is the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund! When you do, your money is put to good use to spread the pro-life message through education. But please hurry! (And don't forget state campaigns and private-sector involvement too!)
The CFC, created by the Office of Personnel Management about 25 years ago, takes place across the country largely on military bases and post offices, with many campaigns extending well into November. Simply ask your CFC chairperson for a brochure, if you have not already received one, and locate the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund (#2844). We are listed alphabetically under the federation called Human Service Charities of America (HSCA).
The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund shares CFC proceeds with its state affiliate groups' education funds, which utilize the funds to educate their communities. Holly Gatling, executive director of South Carolina Citizens for Life, for example, recently reported, "South Carolina Citizens for Life has staffed a pro-life educational booth at the State Fair. We have reached hundreds of thousands of people with positive, accurate information about fetal development and alternatives to abortion. We use medically accurate models showing how the baby develops from one month to birth."
