It took me until the last minute before the deadline to finish writing this review. In analyzing why it took so long, I came to the conclusion that if I could actually get through the book, then I could actually write something about it. The Future of the Music Business is definitely written for the extreme entrepreneurial musician. I use "extreme" because, for the average soloist who wishes to place their own recordings on their personal website, this book bogs one down with too much detail.
The book consists of four sections, with the first section giving an overview of the laws applicable to the music business and today's digital environment. The second section gives the recording industry's history of the past few years and its struggles to harness the power of the Internet.
