Fraternity members and student athletes beware: Hazing is bringing serious repercussions on campus and in court.
* McGill University, which fields Canada's oldest university football team, has forfeited the rest of its football season following an investigation of hazing. Leaders planned to discipline both the team and individuals for hazing at the August training camp.
The incident, which involved nudity, gagging and humiliation, has resulted in all team members performing at least two years of community service, and some individuals will face further disciplinary action but not expulsion.
"It's reinforcement of our zero tolerance for hazing," said acting provost Anthony C. Masi. "The same thing will happen to any team who engages in hazing in the future."
