Dec. 17--Hip Hanukkah music (no longer an oxymoron), has become as culturally and musically diverse as its creators -- an eclectic group of young, iconoclastic Jewish musicians whose styles and influences range from alternative rock to Latino hip-hop and reggae.
Witness Chutzpah, a Jewish hip-hop group from Los Angeles that released the song Chanukah's Da Bomb on its debut album this November. The rap song offers a cheery, if somewhat haughty, holiday message: "whichever way you spell it," Hanukkah is better than Christmas because it's seven days longer.
