Indonesia will hold a new nationwide immunization campaign in January to fight polio, targeting 24 million children under 5, the health minister said Friday.
Polio has sickened 329 children in the sprawling archipelago since March, when the crippling disease re-emerged in the country after a 10-year absence, according to the World Health Organization.
Indonesia has already carried out three nationwide vaccination campaigns since then. Some 97.9 percent of all children targeted were reached in the last drive in November, Health Minister Siti Fadila Supari told reporters Friday, ...
