Dec. 15--CLAREMONT -- A water main along Sullivan Street that broke early Wednesday morning left residents and businesses in the area without service for most of the day.
Department of Public Works General Foreman Jim Hanson said customers of the city's water service should expect dirty water for at least a day, but the water is suitable to drink and does not need to be boiled. Hanson recommended affected customers not do laundry in the next day.
