Dec. 16--That new collective bargaining agreement would fix Detroit's little Red Wings wagon. A cap on salaries would be a cap on the Red Wings' success, yes, siree, Bob. No more would Detroit's rivals find themselves taking middleweight money against the heavyweight profits of good hockey and bad pizza in the pursuit of talent. If the Wings wanted to remain among the NHL's Brahmans, it would not be on superior riches, but on superior scouting, player development and personnel judgment. Um, well, that's Detroit.
