Desktop monitor shipments traditionally increase in Q3 following the slowest of the summer months and, for the UK, this year sales were indeed up--but only slightly.

Unit sales rose by just 3.4 per cent compared to the previous quarter but were up by more than 10 per cent on the same period in 2004. The main reason for the slow down was that the top three suppliers all reported lower sales in Q3 than they had in Q2.
