Wallace knew this season was his last, and he wanted to exit the Nextel Cup Series with a roar, not a whimper.
"I feel this team has earned it because we went from being a great team to having two tough years," says Wallace, 49. "This was the second year with our current crew chief, and we really got our rhythm going. We really paid attention to the handling and everything. That's how we approached it."
