Vietnam Airlines signed an agreement with Boeing on June 21 to purchase four wide-bodied Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets at a sticker price of up to $500 million.

The deal was officially completed at a signing ceremony held at the US Department of Commerce, included Vietnam Airlines President and CEO Nguyen Xuan Hien and Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The event was also witnessed by Vietnam Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and US Department of Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez.
