WORK BEGINS ON US$60 MLN HONDA VIETNAM AUTO PLANT
HANOI - Construction of Honda Vietnam's new car factory began on June 17 in Phuc Yen town in the northern mid-land province of Vinh Phuc. The US$60 million factory will be built on an area of 17,000 sq.m. Once completed in July 2006, the factory will be equipped with a full assembly line with advanced technology, enabling it to produce 10,000 cars per year. When the factory is operating, Honda Vietnam will become the largest car manufacturer in Vietnam and will raise its registered capital from US$45.4 million to $62.9 million.
