Light truck market takes a commercial stand

The light truck market offers a variety of profit opportunities for tire dealers who study local conditions and adjust advertising and inventories accordingly.

"A dealer going after small (light truck) fleet business needs to emphasize product value, load-carrying capacity, dependability, retreadability and cost per mile," said Jack Laurent, manager-truck tire sales for Cooper Tire.

"Coupled with that is the dealer's own ability to provide service to the fleet owner."
