My husband, Jim, and I met at a ski retreat for our church's singles group. Even though I'd never skied before, I gave it a shot. Although Jim was already a seasoned skier, it was just a matter of time before I was right by his side, sloshing down the slopes.

Now each year we wait with anticipation for the first snow, excited to plot out our next ski trip. While most people stay indoors to keep warm, we can't wait to bundle up and plod out in the snow like kids on a day home from school. Experiencing the breathtaking views in the mountains, surrounded by God's creation, are the most precious times we've had together.
