ONE OF THE major training organisations of CCTV operators has voiced concern that the deadline for operators to obtain a licence from the Security Industry Authority, which is due in six months, will be missed.

Regulations state that contract staff monitoring CCTV public space surveillance (PSS) must receive appropriate training and a licence by 20 March 2006. Having invested in state-of-the-art facilities. SOE Academy has just received Edexcel accreditation to deliver the training but it can only tram a maximum of 48 operators a week.
