A cryptosporidium outbreak at a New York spraypark that infected nearly 4,000 people this summer has mushroomed into a class action lawsuit. Meanwhile, another crypto outbreak in Ohio has sickened more than 700.

An estimated 3,200 people are behind the joint lawsuit against the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. They are among the thousands who developed gastrointestinal illnesses after visiting the 11,000-square-foot spraypark at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva, N.Y. in late July. The outbreak was traced to two water storage tanks that supplied the spraypark.
