Marymount College of Fordham University NY is joining the growing number of all-women's colleges forced to close or admit men. The school will be phased out and officially closed in June of 2007.

The decision, made by the Fordham board of trustees in October, shocked and angered much of the college's community. "I chose this school because it's an all-girls school, the heritage of it, the small classes," said freshman Jennifer Pitt. "It's everything I ever wanted."
