KEPPEL Verolme has won €67m ($79m) in new contracts, including the conversion of the panamax bulker Geeview into a pipelaying vessel, reports Marcus Hand in Singapore.
The Dutch yard is to convert the 2005 panamax bulk carrier Geeview into a pipelay vessel Audacia for Swiss offshore contractor Allseas.
The vessel will arrive at the yard in December and is to be redelivered in October 2006.
Capable of working a in water depth of up to 3,000 m, the conversion includes adding new engine rooms, thrusters, additional cranes and accommodation.
It is the second contract from Allseas that Keppel Verolme has bagged recently, with the pipelayer Solitairepaying two visits to the yard this year, and in the most recent a 600 tonnes cantilever ...
