The Personal Injuries Assessment Board in Ireland is unfair for claimants as most have little legal knowledge and are unable to use the system, according to John Carty, solicitor at Kent Carty Solicitors in Ireland.
He commented: "The claimant must write a letter to the PIAB explaining the grounds of the negligence but claimants are not legally versed to do this. The form requires a certain amount of legal knowledge and 5000 out of 13 800 applications received by PIAB were deemed incomplete."
