Lawyers have taken a final swipe at the controversial draft Corporate Manslaughter Bill, three weeks before it is presented to the government.

A panel of legal professionals said, at a Post Magazine roundtable event on the subject, that the draft bill fails to define what constitutes gross negligence and who can be regarded as a senior manager, and that it needs serious amendments.

The bill, which is nearing the end of its oral consultation, will be presented to a select committee before Christmas.
