Norwich Union will not drop RAC's personal injury arm, following a review.
However, the insurer, which bought the motoring giant in the summer, will slash the number of claimant lawyer firms on its legal panel. It did not reveal how many companies will remain from the 22 on board at present.
A leading market source claimed Irwin Mitchell, which is not on the current panel, will be chosen as the sole provider.
This would tie in with the insurer's strategy, after it cut RAC's insurance panel down to a single provider - NU - although overflow business will go to broker BDML.
