Government steps to reform the compensation system have come under attack from politicians, following an enquiry into the Compensation Bill.

This week saw the second reading of the legislation in the House of Lords where several amendments were tabled.

The All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance and Financial Services, however, produced a damning report following a detailed investigation, which recommended the new definition of negligence in the bill - in Part 1 - be completely scrapped.
