A rehabilitation code of practice due to be launched this week has been delayed after insurers were left out of the initial discussions.
It is understood the new code was set to be unveiled by Graham Codd, a partner at claimant law firm Irwin Mitchell, at the Royal College of Physicians. It concerns smoothing the flow of an injured person into private care when discharged from the NHS.
However, the Forum of Insurance Lawyers, and insurers only heard of the plans in late September. A meeting between Irwin Mitchell, Foil and insurers is due to take place in December to discuss the code. It is unclear when the new launch will happen.
