The German government opposes proposals to transfer the headquarters of Deutsche Bahn, the German railway system operator, from Berlin to Hamburg, arguing that a move is unacceptable from a structural policy point of view. The management of Deutsche Bahn and the state of Hamburg had proposed the move.
