SYDNEY, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar was marginally stronger today at noon, supported by the high price of gold, while the market gave little reaction to the local economic releases.
At 1200 AEDT the local unit was trading at $US0.7391/96, just above yesterday's close of 0.7386/91.
During the morning trade, it reached a low of $US0.7373 and a high of 0.7404.
OzForex corporate dealer John Corcoran said the local currency has held its footing today and did not react as much as he expected it to the economic figures released this morning.
"We have seen the Aussie hold help quite well, just under the $US0.7400 mark," he said.
"That has really been driven mainly by the strong rally in gold prices.
