SEOUL, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Samsung Electronics Co. (KSE:005930, the world's largest memory chipmaker, is expected to see its fourth-quarter operating profit rise more than 10 per cent from three months earlier on brisk sales of flash memories and flat panels, a local brokerage house said Thursday.
Hyundai Securities Co. predicted Samsung Electronics' operating profit would reach 2.35 trillion won (US$2.27 billion) for the quarter ending Dec. 31, up 10.8 per cent from the previous quarter.
The optimistic forecast comes despite a drop in D-RAM prices, which are expected to decrease 15 per cent during the fourth quarter compared with a year earlier, it said.
