DAVAO CITY, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Businesspeople in the Philippines' Mindanao see bright prospect for the poultry industry as the government of Brunei has agreed to fund the study on the Halal certification program in the island.
Sebastian Angliongto, past president of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, cited the huge market for Halal products in the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines-East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), only goods exported must go through the process of Halal certification.
In Davao region, he said Vic Lao, an investor of the BIMP-EAGA Corporation representing the Philippine side has 128,000 heads under its poultry business.
