AUSTIN, Texas & LUBBOCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2005--Emergent Technologies Inc. ("ETI") of Austin announced today that one of its WesTech Ventures I, L.P. portfolio companies, Selenium Ltd., has entered into an agreement with the Institute for Eye Research at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, NSW, Australia. The Institute will conduct laboratory and clinical testing of antimicrobial contact lenses utilizing a proprietary selenium coating. Terms were not disclosed.
Dr. Mark Willcox of the Institute commented, "The Institute for Eye Research is excited about collaborating on this new antibacterial technology and is looking forward to conducting clinical trials of selenium containing lenses."
