BEIJING, Dec 1 Asia Pulse - Shanghai will give priority to the development of the new materials industry during the 2006-2010 period, and build new materials innovation, production and export bases.
According to information released at the 2005 Shanghai forum on development trend of international new materials that has recently concluded here, the Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission has set the target that by 2010, the city's new materials industry will realize annual sales income of 100 to 120 billion yuan.
This includes 45 per cent for new organic materials, 40 per cent for new metal materials, 10 per cent for new building materials, 3 per cent for new inorganic materials and 2 per cent for compound materials.
