1 Castle Resources Inc., Schoenchen, Kan., completed a wildcat seven miles south and slightly west of Russell, Kan., through four intervals in the Lansing-Kansas City between 3,038 andcu190 ft. The #1 Driscoll, in Section 8-15s-14w in Russell County, initially pumped 80 bbl. of oil with 20 bbl. of water daily through acidized perforations. Total depth of the well is 3,349 ft. The well is 0.5-mile southeast of Gideon Field. Ultimate recovery for the #1 Gideon was 50,000 bbl. of oil.
2 Wichita-based Ritchie Exploration Inc. completed a discovery five miles east-northeast of the town of Fowler in southwestern Kansas in northwestern Clark County. It is producing gas at a daily average rate of 1.52 million cu. ft. The #1 Lang 30C, in Section 30-30s-25w, produced 13 million cu. ft. of gas in March and 45.5 million cu. ft. in April, according to IHS Energy. The 5,710-ft. well, which is the Glider Port Field opener, was completed in the Lansing-Kansas City, but completion details are not being released. It is more than 1.5 miles south-southwest of the nearest previous producer in Norcan Southwest Field, which has recovered 63,000 bbl. of oil and 14.5 million cu. ft. of gas from the Marmaton at around 5,050 ft.
3 Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City, staked a wildcat in White County, a lightly drilled area of northern Arkansas five miles north-northwest of Searcy. The #1-7 Reaper, in Section 7-8n-7w, is projected to reach 6,500 ft. It is 0.5-mile southeast of the Albion Field opener, the #1 Reaper, which produced 17 million cu ft. of gas during 15 months online.
