A faulty component in the condenser fan motor could short-circuit, causing the motor to overheat and catch fire.
Products: 20,000 "French door" style refrigerators, sold 5/04 to 5/05. Sears stores nationwide sold the Kenmore brand exclusively; various other major retailers sold the LG brand refrigerators. LG manufactured all the units. They sold for $1,400 to $2,400. The recalled refrigerators are 21 and 25 cubic feet in size, with a bottom freezer. They came in titanium, stainless steel, bisque, white, or black. The Sears Kenmore models have an external filtered water dispenser. The LGs do not. Suspect units bear the following model and serial numbers (located on data plate inside the refrigerator door):
* Sears Kenmore 21-cubic-foot models: 795.7519240, 795.7519340, 795.7519440, 795.7519640, 795.7519940. 25-cubic-foot models: 795.7554640, 795.7554940, 795.7555240, 795.7555340, 795.7555440, 795.7555640, 795.7885940, 795.7554240, 795.7554340, 795.7554440. All the affected units have serial numbers beginning with 405KR to 410KR.
* LG models LRFC21755TT, LRFC21755SB, LRFC21755ST, LRFC25750WW, LRFC25750SW, LRFC25750SB, LRFC25750TT, and ...
