The claim: NoStik Toast-It nonstick toaster bags let you "turn your toaster into a grill." Slide a sandwich, pizza slice, or bacon strips into a bag, pop it in a toaster, and voile, the food is browned. Any mess stays in the bag, which can be washed and reused. The claim for Toastabags is similar: "Make a toasted sandwich in your toaster."
The check: We used the bags to make French toast; garlic bread; and ham and cheese, tuna melt, and BLT sandwiches in toasters. We cooked bagged pizza on a George Foreman grill.
The bottom line: The results weren't pretty. After about five minutes of toasting on High, garlic bread didn't brown enough in either bag, and bacon remained rubbery. After ...
