In the middle of New Hampshire's White Mountains lies what could be called a beached whale, spouting water every summer. Actually, it's the new 85foot whale-shaped pool, with in-water seating areas at the fins and tail. The 11-slide waterpark is a summer staple for the two rural towns of Lincoln and Woodstock, as well as a summer experience for much of the region.
At night, the heated pool lights up and tiki torches create a glow, whisking visitors away from northern New England to a tropical paradise. Live bands and DJs entertain the crowd who dine alfresco on barbecue and island drinks during "Whale's Tale After-Dark." This event was created in response to the community's request for evening activity at the park.
In addition, Whale's Tale hosts Military Appreciation Day, Safety Day, Locals Day and Summer Splash, which is hosted by the two towns' Chambers of Commerce. All events make little or no profit for the park.
