USA Swimming, the national governing body of competitive swimming, has committed a minimum donation of $130,000 from next year's Swim-A-Thon revenues for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Swim-A-Thon is a yearly fund-raising program for the organization's 3,000 local clubs. People pledge financial support based on how many laps swimmers complete.
