Sir - John Curran, TD, claims that "Fianna Fail has always prided itself on representing the rights of workers and will not be lectured by Labour on employment rights".
This wouldn't happen to be the same Fianna Fail that has done absolutely nothing to stop the exploitation of foreign workers, such as in Irish Ferries and Gama, John?
Or the same party that has done nothing to stop the scandalous situation of An Post workers not receiving our pay rises due under the Sustaining Progress national pay deal - with the outrage that 78 An Post pensioners have died without receiving their pay rises?
Or the same party that has done nothing to stop the attacks on workers' living standards and working conditions, through its whole-hearted support for privatisation, double-tax bin taxes, cutbacks in the health service, etc?
He also asks us to "remember the Government that introduced the May bank holiday was led by Fianna Fail". That is true, but you only begrudgingly gave us our May Day bank holiday after years of protests and pressure.
