I'm one of life's worriers. There always seems to be something to worry about, and when there isn't I worry about that.

It's not good, I know. It's hard to relax, and the mental stress must take its toll - something else to worry about.

I've tried meditation, massage and all sorts of weird and wonderful therapies to help me unwind.

But, even then, I usually find my mind wandering away from the calming surroundings and stressing about something I haven't done or need to do.

What I hadn't tried - until last week - was hypnotherapy.

I admit I was reluctant to give it a go, partly due to scepticism but mostly for fear of being turned into some demented chicken-like character.

Plymouth hypnotherapist Lyta Humphris assured me there was no such fooling around with her therapy.
