Bristol 36 Northampton 28 THAT'S more like it. There were no Premiership points on offer at the Memorial Stadium yesterday, but Bristol finally showed they are ready for top-flight rugby.

After six straight defeats, they scored four tries and played some flamboyant rugby en route to winning this all-English European Challenge Cup pool fixture.

But more encouraging was that they displayed genuine nous in the key areas which had previously failed them - in particular their 100 per cent successful scrum and line-out.
