PRAGUE, Nov 1 (CTK) - First deputy health minister David Rath will step down as Czech Doctors' Chamber (CLK) president by the end of this week, he told public Czech Television (CT) on Monday night.
He added he would announce the exact day of his resignation at a press conference today. Earlier on Monday, Rath told reporters he would probably step down from the CLK helm next day.
"I would resign from the post of the doctors' chamber head by the end of this week. Now I am considering which day would be the best, and I will announce the exact date at a press conference on Tuesday," Rath told CT on Monday.
President Vaclav Klaus recently twice refused PM Jiri Paroubek's request to appoint Rath health minister, citing the threatening conflict of interests and the incompatibility of Rath's position as CLK head with that of minister.
"This is a statement I don't care about at all," Klaus told journalists in reaction to Rath's statement earlier on Monday.
