The students in the Exceptional Student Education program at Punta Gorda Middle School will be celebrating Thanksgiving a day early this year. Thanks to teacher Frank Black and the Bob Evans restaurant in Port Charlotte, the 40 children will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast instead of reading, writing and 'rithmetic on Wednesday.

"We put this on last year," said Black, "and it was such a big hit, we decided to do it again."

He said last year a lot of his students were living in trailers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency after losing their homes to Hurricane Charley. Black realized a lot of those children probably …
