After a series of liquor store robberies in the area, the owner of Sherwood Liquor Fair of Ewing, Pennsylvania, decided to sleep in his store to guard it.
Mr. Baran, the storeowner, said that he was sleeping behind the counter at about 6:15 a.m. on August 30 when he was awakened by glass breaking. After activating the store's silent alarm, he grabbed some pepper spray, armed himself, and approached the burglar, reported the Trentonian (Trenton, N.J.).
