Section: Regional News - Malaysia has developed an emergency plan to deal with a possible bird flu outbreak, according to local media.

Health Minister Chua Soi Lek said in case of a bird flu outbreak, police patrols would quarantine areas within a three kilometre (4.5 mile) radius of any suspected case, and health officials would go from house to house to check whether anyone had contracted the deadly H5N1 virus.
