Beauty Reporter: Beauty 101 Card
Cheat Sheet
1 When hair is damp, add heft to fine strands with a thickening spray or blob of mousse, applied from ?roots to ends. For medium or thick hair, a lightweight styling lotion or texturizing spray will help barrettes ?get a stronger grip. A moisturizing cream for curls will calm frizz and define waves. Dry as desired.
2 Part the hair to one side, in line with the middle of your eye, and brush it back from the face into a smooth, low ponytail at the nape of the neck.
3 Cinch it with an elastic band that matches your ?hair color before winding the tail into a low, loose bun or knot and anchoring it with bobby pins.
4 Fasten a barrette on the back of the head just above the highest point of your bun or knot.
5 For added style, position a second barrette along ?the crown about two inches back from your hairline, in line with the outermost corner of the eyebrow ?opposite your part. Angle the barrette gently away from the forehead as you slide it in.
