Love and Laughter
Love and Laughter
Both men and women say they want a mate with a good ?sense of humor-but their definition of that apparently differs. In a study of 150 people led by psychology researcher Eric Bressler at McMaster University in Canada, 65 percent of women said they desired a romantic partner who would make them laugh. In contrast, 62 percent of ?the male study subjects preferred a mate who was receptive to their jokes, despite being relatively humorless. For friendships, men proved ?more open to women who could produce laughter as well as be reduced to it. Women, though, still generally chose not ?to be the joker in the relationship.
