What is high hair? An updo: horizontal, aspiring. The category includes bouffant and chignon, but high hair need not be stiff, shellacked, or excessively pinned. It may consist of loose curly tresses piled informally atop the head, some locks cascading downward over brow and ear. High hair is irresponsibly uplifted, inebriated, too "uppity" or "speedy" for its own good.
