The Last Laugh
At first, I questioned the choice of Ellen DeGeneres for the June cover of Allure ["Ellen Moves On" by Kevin Sessums]. She has never placed an emphasis on beauty. Then I read the article and thought about her life--she is a kind, honest, moral woman who has been knocked down more than once and come back swinging. Maybe she doesn't epitomize the traditional concept, but she is absolutely beautiful. Plus, she's got more Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci in her closet than I'll ever have! Shame on me for having such a narrow definition of the word "beauty."

I'm so glad to see someone other than the stereotypical cover girl on the front of a women's magazine. Ellen is quirky and unconventional, has a great style all her own, and looks amazing in the photos. Thank you for recognizing different kinds of beauty and putting this hilarious, gorgeous woman on your cover.
