The good life is all about balance. After a week of work and school, relaxing with your family can help strengthen relationships and improve communication--the best way for families to stay healthy. Here's how we make the most of our off-hours down in the Sunshine State.
Try a new sport. When you tackle a new activity together, you and your family share a learning experience that makes the activity "yours." Your kids will learn to take risks and to appreciate the importance of practicing new skills while they watch you learn too. For younger children, try miniature golf, croquet, horseshoes, and tetherball. Horseback riding, skiing, water sports, and other such popular activities are great if your kids are older, but they require a lot of stamina and skill, so make sure everyone is up to it to keep little ones from becoming frustrated.

Relive the good times. Savor wonderful memories, relive meaningful events, and forge stronger bonds with one another by reviewing photos, tapes, or other mementos, or by making scrapbooks together.
