Integration update

The integration of the two former Institutes is moving at a rapid rate. I am delighted with the progress and the manner in which it has been made. If there is one word that encapsulates the entire process it is inclusiveness. It is ensuring that we are all on an equal footing, that all members will benefit from the new Institute and that staff across Australia and New Zealand work to ensure the right spirit and culture is imbued in the new organisation they are helping to create.

Whilst we are moving quickly it will take until April next year for all of the integration implementation to be completed. I would ask all members and friends of the Institute to be patient over the next few months as we continue the integration process.

Our new name

Recommendations for a new name and brand were put to the first Board meeting late last month. We are currently seeking the views of a range of members and expect that the new name and brand will be launched later in the year.

The challenge of this process is combining the unique attributes and individuals of the two Institutes. We must ensure that we embrace the past and our vision of the future as well as protect and enhance the integrity, reputation and respect enjoyed by our members.

Regional Councils

Regional Councils across Australia are now almost fully integrated. The process of integrating two councils in each State has been conducted with the same spirit of inclusiveness that was characterised by the establishment of the Board of the new Institute. To those members of the new Regional Councils, thank you for your continued involvement and to those who are retiring, a special thank you for your time and commitment.
