The most pleasant surprise of the playoffs has been the White Sox's bullpen. It hasn't missed a beat since a changing of the guard at closer. Dustin Hermanson was cruising along until his back acted up. Bobby Jenks, a rookie, came up from the minors and, boom, he was inserted as the closer. He got the job in September and has held onto it in the playoffs.
Thrown into the deep end, Jenks has performed like an Olympic swimmer. Remember Byung-Hyun Kim in the 2001 World Series? He blew saves on back-to-back nights and never has been the same.
