(From Irish Independent)
MOBILE phone charges already appear to be coming down in response to a new website.
The site makes it easy for people to find out which company offers the cheapest prices, the Consumers Association of Ireland said yesterday.
TV guru Eddie Hobbs urged all consumers to compare mobile phone charges on www.callcosts.ie, a new website launched by the government's telecommunications watchdog Comreg yesterday to help people find the cheapest deal at the click of a button.
"Mobile phone costs are a burning matter on consumer agendas, but for so long it's been impossible to compare costs.
"People are spending more than they earn and anything that can help them save money is a very good thing," he said.
Consumers simply have to answer a few simple questions, such as how many texts and how many minutes a month they use their phone and are given an instant run-down of the costs, starting with the cheapest provider.
