Whether it's fantasy baseball or major league baseball, every team is in search of young arms--guys who can give a team a new look. Granted, young pitchers' inconsistency has been known to put dents in many an ERA and WHIP category. But who can blame a desperate fantasy owner for trying something to make up ground, especially in A.L.-or N.L.-only leagues? Keep an eye on the young pitchers who might be called up in September. Most of these guys have been lights-out in the minors and could make a splash in The Show:

Jesse Foppert, RHP, Giants. If Ryan Jensen continues to falter, this sinkerballer could be the guy the team turns to. He has 168 strikeouts in 129-plus minor league innings this season.

Franklyn German, RHP, Tigers. The Tigers are getting by with Juan Acevedo as their closer, but that might not last, especially with German, a recent trade acquisition, blowing fastballs by Class AAA hitters.

Jimmy Journell, RHP, Cardinals. If the Cards are unable to trade for another back-of-the-rotation starter, we finally might get to see what this top prospect can do. He has a sharp, big-league-ready slider that has helped him post a 2.85 ERA this season.

Cliff Lee, LHP, Indians. The team says it will be patient with this lanky lefty it acquired in the Bartolo Colon trade. But the Indians have the majors' third-worst team ERA (5.07), and could break down at any moment, so you need to be ready.
