Red is wrong
Even though I am an old Celtics fan, I must admit Phil Jackson is the greatest professional basketball coach of all time, and Red Auerbach's criticism was unfounded.
Jackson won six NBA championships with Bulls teams that did not have a good post player. Auerbach could always count on Bill Russell.
Jackson has won his championships with two different teams that had two different types of star players.
He has won his championships while contending with free agency and the salary cap.
And he has won them with players who often have had a me-first attitude.
